Our WISH Program Allows Patients to Live Their Dreams
WISH PROGRAM
Many of our patients have end-of-life wishes they want to fulfill. In 2008 we created our
WISH Program to help those wishes come true! Through our WISH Program, patients and families have gone on weekend trips, trips to visit loved ones, and
fishing trips, to name a few. We’ve also helped throw memorable
weddings, anniversary parties, and a solar eclipse party! Some wishes are big, and some are small, but each is unique and special to our patients. Funding for wishes is provided through donations by our generous financial partners.
SPECIAL NEEDS FUND
Patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses are already in a vulnerable position; it only complicates the situation when financial worries are present. Our Special Needs Fund provides a one-time benevolent request for patients who demonstrate financial need. Such financial requests may include but are not limited to paying a utility or fuel bill or buying groceries or clothing.
This fund has paid household bills for patients, bought food for families, and was used to repair the brakes on a patient’s car, her only source of transportation. It also made visits to the dentist possible for two patients who needed unexpected dental work to relieve pain.
We recognize that some patients and their families may incur needs for the simple necessities of life while they are with Hospice, and we desire to help them whenever we can.
